ABOUT: Based in Helsinki, Toni Kamula (b. 1978) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is defined by a lifelong passion for storytelling and a restless creative curiosity.

Originally from the rugged coast of Kempele by the Gulf of Bothnia, Kamula draws on a rich background in theatre, cinema and media arts. He blends modern digital narratives with the timeless aesthetic of film photography and the art of the spoken narrative.

Kamula’s creative footprint spans across various mediums. As a director, he focuses on short films and audio dramas, with his cinematic works earning international recognition as Official Selections at several prestigious A-category film festivals. His expertise as an actor is equally established, having performed in major television and film productions as well as on Finland’s premier stages, including the Finnish National Theatre and the City Theatres of Helsinki and Lahti.

Voice is a cornerstone of Kamula’s artistry. With a portfolio of over 350 narrated audiobooks, he is one of Finland’s most sought-after voice talents, lending his craft to animated series, commercial projects, and audio dramas. This deep immersion in spoken storytelling has made him a frequent voice in panel discussions, podcasts, and media features exploring the evolution of the narrative arts.

Kamula is the founder of Third Floor Oy. The company serves as the base for his own artistic projects while providing a platform for high-level consultancy and mentorship in two distinct areas:

  • Vocal Excellence: As a specialist in the human voice, Kamula coaches authors and professionals in the art of transitioning from text to speech—building confidence through technical mastery and authentic expression.

  • Cinematic Leadership: Teaching film directing with a focus on the psychology of a scene and its role within the larger narrative. He guides students in the art of directing actors and leading a crew, emphasizing the truth in human interaction, the power of intuition, and the clarity to focus on what is essential.

Whether through his own artistic work or a coaching session, Kamula’s mission remains the same: to find the most authentic and impactful way to bring a story to life.
